Acts 22:30; 23:6-11

Psalm 16

John 17:20-26

“I pray…for those who will believe in me through their word…”  John 17:20

Lord, it’s always a sign of love and unity when one of my family or friends prayer for me.  It’s an assurance that I am special to that person and they desire to place my needs in the hands of God.  Today, we overhear you praying to your Father just hours before your arrest, torture and crucifixion.  Among your last thoughts before your agony are for those who will come to faith in the future.  You prayed for me and my family.  You prayed I would be one with other believers near and far.  You prayed that we all would one day be with you in paradise.  You prayed we would grow in holiness knowing in our hearts that you love us.  Now that’s a prayer heard by God Almighty and is being answered.  Your prayer is answered every time I accept someone as they are without judgement.  It is answered when I look past appearances to respect and love those who are different than me.  It’s answered when I give my time and attention to someone who is hurting.  Lord, thank you for praying for me and my family.  Amen.
