2 Samuel 7:4-17

Psalm 89

Mark 4: 1-20

“Hear this!  A sower went out to sow.” Mk.4:3

Lord, all good teachers use repetition as a tool for getting the point of the lesson across to their students.  They know that not all students learn in the same way and at the same rate.  You use parables to teach us about your Father and your kingdom.  The story of the sower and the seed is a familiar one to many of us.  Let your word come alive in my heart today, Lord.  Help me to understand what you want me to learn.  Some days I can have a heart that is not ready to receive your message of love and peace.  Some days I’m too busy to reflect on the meaning of your parables.  Some days I hear you just fine but am too caught up in my way of doing things that I resist your way.   Thank you for continuing to speak to me and to make known the truth that I so much need to hear.  May I be open to whatever way you choose to reveal your love for me and how I can bear your fruit in your kingdom.  Amen.
