December 24, 2020 Thursday of the Fourth Week of Advent-B

2 Samuel 7:1-5, 8-12, 14, 16

Psalm 89

Luke 1:67-79

“…the dawn from on high shall break upon us… Lk. 1:78

Lord, I love the beauty of the sky moments before the sun rises over the horizon. The colors of the dawn are glorious. This display fills my heart with hope and expectation of the day to come. Zechariah used the dawn as a metaphor for the coming of a Savior. This is the last day of Advent. The time of waiting is nearly over. All the preparations have been made and we patiently stand by for the “Son” of God to rise and to be born in our hearts. The darkness is giving way to the light of lights. Lord, I pray that my Advent time has been fruitful. I pray that I have let go of any barriers to your coming into my life more completely. I pray that I have readied myself to celebrate with joy your coming among us.  I look forward to receiving the gift of your body and blood in the Mass. I look forward to giving you myself so you can “guide my feet into the way of peace.” O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice come shine on us.  We await the daybreak.  Amen.
