They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength… Is. 40:31

“Come to me all you who labor and are burdened…” Mt. 12:28

Lord, there are so many events and activities this time of year that invite our attention. While the pandemic has reduced the number of social engagements and opportunities for shopping our calendars can become full. We become so busy this season of the year can at times be a burden for us. Stress can build up in us as we try to fit more into our schedule than is really good for us. We can then forget or fail to appreciate the reason for all this activity. Jesus, you issue an invitation that should be first and foremost.  You invite us to come to you with all our anxiety and burdens. You offer to take them from our shoulders and to give us peace and rest. Lord, you are the only place where I can escape the noise and distractions that weigh me down.  You are the quiet my soul, spirit and body so need. Do not let me become spiritually fatigued. Lord, I happily RSVP and accept your generous offer of renewal and refreshment. I look for a renewal of the strength that only you can give and place my greatest burden on your strong shoulders. Thank you for your kind invitation.  Amen.
