Matthew 15:21-28

“Lord, help me.” Mt. 15:25

“O woman, great is your faith!”  Mt. 15:28

Lord, we’ve all been this Canaanite woman. We have prayed and asked for your attention but it seemed as if you had ignored us when our appeal wasn’t answered right away or in the way we wanted. This foreign woman is commended and her daughter saved because of her great faith. It seems in these stories faith always gets your attention even in the most unlikely people. In meeting this woman you presented her with obstacles and challenges and her faith grew and her prayer persevered. She is a powerful example to me. I know you loved her and her daughter. In your silence you drew out of her a faith in you that few others had. I likely would have given up after your initial silence and an insult. Lord, may I approach you today with the same humble perseverance of this nameless woman. May I too grow in faith and trust in your love and healing power. You know that I have been praying about a broken relationship in my family for a long time. I believe you will hear my prayer and answer it in the best way and at the right time.  I thank you for however you respond.  Amen.
