Proverbs 3:27-34

Psalm 15

Luke 8:16-18

“…so that those who enter may see the light.”  Lk. 8:16

Lord, as wonderful as our eyes are, they are useless without light.  Our eyes require a source of light so we can see what the light reveals.  The absence of light is darkness.   You became one of us to be our Savior and the light to show us the path to walk.  When you shine your light into my life I am truly blessed with seeing your power and your mercy everywhere.  Your presence chases the darkness away and allows me to see your grace at work in revealing your plan for mankind and for me.  Lord, to be honest, there are places within me that still want to remain dark.  I don’t want anyone to see the darkness of my sin or my weakness.  But you see all of it.  Luke writes: “For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible.”  I can hide no secrets from you.  I may have a few that I’d rather keep to myself.  May your purifying and grace-filled light shine into my heart and chase out all the darkness you find there.  Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today. Amen.
