Ephesians 5:21-33

Psalm 128

Luke 13:18-21

Be subordinate to one another out of reverence for Christ.  Eph. 5:21

“What is the kingdom of God like”?  Lk. 13:18

Lord, thank you for creating the family and the relationships among its members.  From the beginning you chose to establish the family as the basic, fundamental structure in the human race.  Through marriage men and women cooperate with you in creation of human life.  Your dream for the family is that we respect and give ourselves to each other in humility and love.  Lord, may husbands and wives give their hearts to one another.  Your sacrificial love for us your people is reflected in the holy bonds of marriage.  Lord, I know that no marriage is perfect and that we often fall short of your dream of unity.  Help us to listen to one another.  Give us the ability to say “I’m sorry; I was wrong; can you forgive me?”   The kingdom you brought to our world is seen so strongly in a marriage and a family where the members live not for themselves but for each other.  May married couples find a way today to give more of themselves to each other.  May your grace and peace bless all marriages.  Amen.
