Galatians 3:7-14

Psalm 111

Luke 11:15-26

“Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste.”  Lk. 11-17

Lord, your critiques wanted to justify their lack of faith in you by saying your mighty deeds had an evil origin.  They couldn’t deny your good works so they went after the source of your power.  Some believed your power came from God and others didn’t.  There is so much division among your people in our world today.   It seems to get worse from day to day.  Is this the way your enemy, the devil, is working to break us down and destroy us?   Is this the result of our society turning against you?  Have we allowed evil to replace good in our national policies and relationships?  The biggest lie is that there is really no standard of good or evil.  Lord, I turn to you and beg you to heal our nation and to restore unity.  Help us to turn away from the agenda of those who deny you and to embrace the ways of those who call to you for unity.  Come back into our institutions of government, our schools and our homes.  Direct us to choose freedom and justice for the oppressed.  Restore our national purpose to be your instrument of peace in a world of violence and hate.  Amen.
