Galatians 3:1-5

Psalm Luke 1:69-75

Luke 11:5-13

…did you receive the Spirit from works of the law or from faith…?  Gal. 3:2

Lord, we are taught from an early age that to achieve success in this life we must study, work hard and not be distracted from our goals.  This strategy determines that how far we go in life is the result of how hard we work and apply ourselves.  St. Paul is clearly frustrated with the Galatians as he reminds them that in God’s kingdom things are different.  The foundation of success in our spiritual lives is faith in you and not in rules and regulations.  Our faith in you as our Lord and Savior is where everything begins and ends.  Lord, thank you for the gift of faith.  I cannot save myself no matter how closely I follow the Commandments and the rituals of our church.  I cannot earn the glorious gift of salvation purchased by your blood.  Lord, I believe you will supply everything I need to live a faith filled and holy life.  I received your gift of the Spirit at my Baptism and I continue to rely on your grace to attain my goal: life with you forever.   Dear Jesus, I believe in you, help my unbelief.  Amen.
