Daniel 1:1-6, 8-20

Psalm Daniel 3:52-56

Luke 21:1-4

“…she in her poverty has put in all she had to live on.” Lk 21:4

Lord, in your word today you describe those who offer to you from their surplus in contrast to the widow who gives all she has.   I have to admit I am too much like the first group.  When it comes to offering my time, talent and treasure for your use I can hold back what I want for my own security.  But there are also times when I do give all to you.  I offer you this day I am beginning.  All that I think, say and do, dear Lord are yours to bear fruit in my life and in the lives of my family and others.  I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings this day.  I offer you myself.  Even if I am not aware at the time, make all I am and do a sign of trust and love of you.  This woman depended upon you to make good on your promises as I do today.  Purify my heart to have the right intentions and keep me faithful to your will in all ways.  You held nothing back from me on the cross, so give myself to you this day.  Amen.
