“And then they will see the Son of Man coming…”  Mk. 13:26

Lord, this time of the year your word prepares us for when you will appear again, not as a baby in a manger but as the Lord of all in great power and majesty.   Whenever and however that will happen is a great mystery to us.  The description of that day in our readings can cause fear and distress even among those who believe in you.  It will be the end of time, life and all we know on this planet.  But your coming can also be looked at as the beginning of a new era and a glorious life for eternity.  It will be the start of our perfect unity with you and unending happiness forever.  Lord, death will be the end of my earthly life but it will also be a doorway to your embrace and a joy filled reunion with all those who have entered paradise before me.  Greeted by the saints and angels, I will not miss anything or anyone of this world.   Dear Jesus, I trust in you and surrender to whatever my future holds for then I will shine brightly as the stars forever.  Amen.
