Mary…greeted Elizabeth. Lk. 1:40
Lord, your Mother Mary brought you to her cousin Elizabeth in haste. She couldn’t wait to share the good news that God had become human and was dwelling within her and soon would be present to the whole human race. How blessed Elizabeth must have felt as she was the first to receive you after your Mother. Mary was the tabernacle of our Savior. Two women, miraculously pregnant, believed because they had received the Holy Spirit. Mary was the handmaid of the Lord and Elizabeth gave birth to the great prophet John. Lord, today we are called to bring you to the world. A world that is so in need of a Savior. May I too go in haste to bring your presence to someone who desperately needs it. I pray you will be received by them as Elizabeth received you so many years ago. I also ask that I be a joyful witness to your presence as I encounter obstacles and barriers to the good news of your salvation. The same Holy Spirit present in those two women can guide and strengthen me as I bear you in haste. Amen.
