1Corinthians 15:1-8

Psalm 19

John 14:6-14

“If you know me, then you will also know my Father.”  John 14:7

Lord, at the time you spoke these words to your disciples they were learning and experiencing you like children.  They had a curiosity and a drive to know you and to grow a relationship with you.  It must have come as a shock to them when you revealed your oneness with God the Father in heaven.   You spoke plainly: “whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”  It was hard for them, seeing you as a flesh and blood, human man, to understand your divine unity with the Father.  Lord it is hard for us sometimes to understand the infinite with our limited, finite minds.  I want to know you better.  I want to grow in faith and understanding of how you show us the love of the Father in the person of his Son.  Dear Jesus, help me to be open to a closer, more intimate relationship with you.  I pray for a heart that desires you first among all.  May I have a childlike curiosity about who you are and what you want for me.  I ask, in your name dear Jesus, to bring me closer to you today.  Amen.
