James 4:13-17

Psalm 49

Mark 9:38-40

…you have no idea what your life will be like tomorrow.  James 4:14

“For whoever is not against us is for us.”  Mk. 9:40

Lord, life is very unpredictable.  We try to control as much of it as we can but no one really knows all of what will happen tomorrow.   James advises us to place tomorrow in your hands and to look for and accept your will in all things.  He makes the point that God’s will should be our priority when making judgments about what to do or not do.  You help your friends to see God’s will can be accomplished in many ways by unexpected people.   God doesn’t need our help to govern the universe he made.  So, Lord, how can I know your will?  The answer may be like I know the desires of my spouse, children or close friends.  I know the will of those to whom I am very close.  Their ways are close to my heart.  Jesus, keep me so very close to you so I can have trust and confidence that my will is in union with yours.  Help me to see the many ways that your plan is being worked out in my life and the lives of those around me.  Amen
