Acts of the Apostles 13:44-52

Psalm 98

John 14:7-14

“If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.”  John 14:14

Lord, I come to you today in prayer for so much.  I lift up to you family, friends, and coworkers.  I ask you to intervene in broken relationships, healing of disease, and bringing people I care about back to faith.  I ask for peace between enemies and nations.  There is such a need for your forgiveness for sins of injustice and protection from evil.   When I pray “in your name”, Lord, I am trusting that you know best and that you have a purpose and plan for every one of us.  Sometimes my solutions are not your solutions, or my timelines your timelines.   I have prayed for my nephew for years, Lord, without any sign that he is coming to faith.  I think you want him to believe in you too.  Do not let doubts creep into my prayers but fill me with confidence in your life-giving power.  When I pray, “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” help me to really mean it. So, dear Jesus, I surrender to you each and every person and situation I care about.  “In your name” I lift them all up and place them in your hands. Amen
