Psalm 113

John 15:9-17

“Lord…show us which one of these two you have chosen…”  Acts 1:24

“It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you…”  John 15:16

Lord, the selection of Matthias to be one of your Apostles didn’t happen when Peter called your followers together to find a replacement for Judas.  You chose Matthias before he was born.  Throughout his life you patiently prepared him each and every day for this moment.  Then you continued to form and lead him until the day he gave his life for you and entered your heavenly kingdom.  You have chosen me too from the very beginning to be your disciple and to bear my own unique fruit in your service.   My path to today has been one of a kind.  The gifts, talents, experiences and opportunities you have provided for me are like no others.  Your expectations and hopes for me are likewise special to me.  Lord Jesus, I pray I do not let you down or disappoint you.  I’m not perfect and continue to make a lot of mistakes so I beg you to keep choosing me, working on me and blessing me with the grace to become who you created me to be.  Thank you Lord, for choosing me.  St. Matthias pray for me.  Amen.
