John 14:1-12
Where I am going you know the way.” John 14:4
Lord, I may have the same questions as Peter, Thomas and Phillip. Their hearts ached because they wanted to be with you. Your words of farewell were too much for them. I too need to know where you are, how to come to you? Your answer to them was that you and the Father in heaven are one and the same. You became one of us to be the way to God. So I don’t have to go searching for you, you have come to me. I don’t need to try to find you because you’ve already found me. You are right here in my heart. You are so close that I can miss you. Even if I deny or turn away from you, like Peter and the others, you always take me back time after time. Dear Jesus, thank you for never leaving me alone to fend for myself. You are nearer to me than my own skin. You show me the Father’s love so I can be a holy dwelling place for you. How can my heart be troubled when you are right here within? You have given yourself to me, so today I give myself to you. Amen.
