Isaiah 49:8-15

Psalm 145

John 5:17-30

I will never forget you.  Isaiah 49:15

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in love.  Psalm 145:8

Lord, I can tell someone about a friend of mine.  I may describe their appearance, tell of their good qualities and praise their character.  But my friend will not really know that person until they meet them in person.  The bible is filled with words about God the Father.  We are told of his power, wisdom, mercy and love.  But you, Lord, became one of us to show us the face of our Father.  You are a living, breathing image of the God who created us and holds all things in existence.  When we see you we see the Father.  You are so one with him you even called him Abba, Daddy.  Lord, it give me great comfort to receive you in Holy Communion, to pray to you and to hear of your marvelous love for all of us.  I can experience the love of my Father in your love for me.  Today, Jesus, I trust you will lead me to the Father and bring me home to live forever.  Amen.
