…for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more.  Jer. 31:34

Lord, in these few words from your prophet we have the foundation of our relationship with you.  We are a lost people without your mercy.  Without the second chance you give us through forgiveness we would die in our sins.  Without your saving death on the cross we would remain in darkness.  Without your resurrection from the dead we would have no hope of eternal life.  Lord, I trust in and rely on your unconditional love and your desire for me to be healed of whatever separates me from you.  I lay my mistakes, bad choices and weaknesses at your feet.  You gave every drop of your blood on the cross in death so I could live.  You suffered so much so I could have your very life within me.  Therefore, I repent of any thought, word or deed which has hurt you.  I beg for your grace to change my ways so that I can walk closer with you today.  Thank you, Lord, for forgetting my past and giving me hope for eternal life.  Amen.
