“Ask and it will be given to you… Mt. 7:7

Lord, thank you for your invitation to come to you in prayer.  In my heart I believe you want us to turn to you for our needs.  I also believe that you want to give us good things.  You desire a close relationship with each of us and anything that will strengthen that is ours for the asking.  I am confident that you see clearly and know for certain how to bless us, when to deliver what is for our welfare.  The answer to my prayers may not look like what I have asked for.  It may not come immediately.  You may substitute something better that I have not thought of.  That’s OK, Lord, for I trust completely in your judgment.  You know what is best for me better than I do.  You even know that before I ask.  I believe you delight in my asking, seeking and knocking for the graces that bring me closer to you.  May I today share in your abundant goodness and accept whatever you provide for my welfare.  May nothing from you escape my notice.  I thank you in advance for all your blessings this day.  Amen.
