Isaiah 55:10-11
Psalm 34
Matthew 6:7-15
“…thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Mt. 6:10
Lord, thank you for the gift of this awesome prayer. It is such a deep and complete connection to our Father. Since it comes from you, I know that these words please the Father every time I pray it from my heart. I humbly accept my role in building your kingdom on earth. In my family, my parish, my community and the world may the values you taught us bring all mankind closer to you. You teach me that forgiving those who have harmed me is part of building that kingdom. Letting go of hurts and not judging others can bring your kingdom closer. Help me to not take myself so seriously that I cannot shrug off harmful words or insults. May I bear them for your sake. There are many with whom I disagree and resist due to their politics or life style. Never let me hate anyone but be resolved when injustice occurs. Protection of the innocent and vulnerable is the goal of your kingdom. I believe, dear Lord, that you will provide all the “daily bread” I need to witness to your love and forgiveness in all situations. May your will be done. Amen.
