Tobit 11:5-17
Psalm 146
Mark 12:35-37
How do the scribes claim that the Messiah is the son of David?” Mark 12:35
Lord, today you are asking the questions. Your opponents denied your identity and relationship with your Father. The religious authorities were silenced but the crowd was delighted. You posed the same question to Peter. “Who do you say that I am?” It is a question I must answer for myself. Lord, this is the most important question I’ll every answer. You are either Lord of my life or you are not! For you to be my Lord and my God I must empty myself of all the other gods in my life. I must place you above my possessions, money, my passions and my love of myself. Dear Jesus, you know that this is a daily battle for me. Lord, my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak. I can’t let you be king of my heart, master of my home, of my thoughts, my relationships and everything else without the help of your Holy Spirit. Bring me close to you and free me from any attachments that separate me from you. Be Lord of my life. Amen.
