Tobit 6:10-11; 7:1, 9-17; 8:4-9

Psalm 128

Mark 12:28-34

“Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age.” Tobit 8:7

Lord, while the ancient customs of arranged marriages seems strange to us its clear there was love between Tobiah and Sarah. It’s also clear that their faith brought them to their knees before their wedding night.  What a beautiful prayer they offered to the Father for his mercy and protection.  Praying with another person or a community is a powerful way to magnify our prayers to you.  Lord, I believe you will always bless our efforts when we pray together.  Husbands and wives, families and friends become closer to each other and to you when we lift up our hearts and minds to you.  I know in my heart that you delight in seeing your children unified in worship and gratitude.  I also believe that many marriages and families would experience greater peace and harmony if they regularly prayed with and for each other.  Thank you Jesus for sending someone into my life to encourage me and lift me up.  Help us to grow closer together.  Amen.
