Psalm 128

Matthew 8:1-4

Abraham prostrated himself and laughed… Genesis 17:17

Lord, when told he and Sarah would finally have a child in their old age Abraham couldn’t help himself.  After bowing to you in reverence he laughed out loud at how ridiculous your promise seemed to him.  He couldn’t grasp how this would all happen.  Maybe he was so joyful that he giggled with delight and relief.  All through his family turmoil he stayed steady in faith.  He trusted you could do the impossible even if he couldn’t understand how.  Lord, I also wait for you to do the impossible in my life.  There are relationships that need to be healed, temptations overcome, doubts and worry to be calmed.  Help me to wait, like Abraham and Sarah, on the right time for you to do the impossible.  May I stay faithful, obedient and patient as you gradually bring me to where I must be to receive your blessings.  Make me ready, Lord, for the impossible.  Amen
