I praise you, so wonderfully you made me…  Psalm 139:14

“What, then will this child be?” Luke 1:66

Lord, when I looked in the bathroom mirror this morning I didn’t see the glorious person you made me to be.  In the eyes of the world I’m pretty small, average, nothing special except to my family and sometimes even to them I’m not sure.  But you honor me.  You made me a glorious person in your sight. Even in my mother’s womb you gave my life meaning.  You made me unique, like a snowflake, among the billions of your children.  Thank you Lord for looking at me as your special and glorious child.  You gave me a purpose from my very beginning.  Just as you gave prophetic talents and opportunities to Isaiah and John the Baptist, you’ve given me gifts and a purpose.  Gifts and purpose you’ve given no one else.  So Lord today help me to live my unique and singular purpose—as a parent, spouse, citizen, faithful servant and child of God.  Become my strength.  Share your wisdom, power and grace to help me to be who you created me to be.  Lord, I am a small person but large in your eyes.  Amen
