2 Corinthians 11:1-11

Psalm 111

Matthew 6:7-15

“…thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”  Mt. 6:10

Lord, your disciples have prayed with your words for centuries.  For most of us this prayer is on our lips every day.  It can sometimes become routine and just flow and fail to come from the heart.  Forgive me for the many times I’ve said it without praying it.   It’s true you know what I need before I even ask.  You of course know what is best for me better than I do.  So, while I may not understand why, when you withhold what I want it’s okay.  If I maintain a hopeful, faithful heart you will provide for my needs out of your love for me.  Dear Jesus, I do trust in your will for me and that the daily bread you give me in so many different forms is exactly what I need at this moment.  To pray for your Kingdom to grow and spread on earth is the ultimate in surrender to your will.  I humbly come to you and place myself in your generous and loving hands.  Help me to be alert and to look for the surprising daily bread you provide for me today.  I am grateful for everything you send my way.  Amen.
