Acts 25:13-21
Psalm 103
John 21:15-19
…so far have our sins been removed from us. Psalm 103:12
“Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you…” John 21:17
Lord, when identified as one of your disciples, Peter denied it three times. He said, “I don’t even know the man.” I’d think such an epic failure would have disqualified him as the shepherd of the church after your ascension to your Father. You do know everything and can see into the human heart. Despite his sin, you saw great potential in Peter. You forgave his sin and led him to confess his love for you. This profession of love helped Peter to forgive himself and to accept his mission to care for and shepherd the flock. Lord, you know my sins too. You so desire that I move beyond my guilt and accept your forgiveness. You also see goodness and potential in me. Like Peter, I love you and am so grateful you haven’t given up on me either. I pray that today I can show my love of you by caring for your sheep in whatever way I can. Amen.
