2 Corinthians 5:14-21

Psalm 103

Matthew 5:33-37

So we are ambassadors for Christ as if God were appealing through us.  2 Cor. 5:20

Lord, I never thought of myself as an ambassador.  An ambassador represents the government and the people of one nation to another.   That’s a pretty lofty position with a lot of responsibility.  Now think about being God’s ambassador.  That’s kind of a scary thought.  My first reaction is “I’m not qualified” or “I’m not worthy.”  I hear Paul tell us that because of you we are a new creation.  That tells me that I don’t need to worry about being smart enough, strong enough or even capable enough to be an ambassador.   Your grace is sufficient for everything and every position you call me to be.  It also means that I don’t have to rely on my own ability but on you.  I trust the Holy Spirit will bring to my heart what to say, when to say it and to whom to say it to.  How many times have you put someone in front of me that needs to hear that you love them and that they are forgiven their sins if they seek it?  Help me to stay alert and to boldly proclaim and live the gift of faith as your ambassador.  Amen.
