Not that of ourselves we are qualified to take credit…our qualification come from God… 2 Cor. 3:5

Lord, Paul in his letter to us today puts us in our place.  He informs us as to who deserves the credit for our acts of ministry in God’s Church.   He directs us to a new attitude that as creatures of the living God we receive everything from him.  All is gift.  Lord, you must be amused when you see us taking credit for good works, for achievement, and for success.  We have accomplished a lot in glorious buildings, advanced technology, space travel and all the other monuments to our achievement.  All this is wonderful but it only reflects what God has placed within each of his creatures.  Lord you have given us abundant natural resources on this planet.  You have designed our brains and our bodies to do so much.  You must be pleased when we make our world and our society more just, peaceful and loving.  You have also given us the commandments to govern our relationships with you and each other.   Your law is based on love.  I thank you for the talents, gifts and opportunities you have given me.  May I always give credit where credit is due—to God and no one else.  Amen.
