Matthew 13:31-35
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed… it is like yeast…” Mt.13:31, 33
Lord, we have a saying that goes: “a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” Small beginnings can lead to great things. Likewise small mistakes, bad choices, and giving in to “just a little temptation” can lead to evil consequences. A seed or a package of yeast is just that until we do something with them. We must prepare the ground, plant the seed, add water and protect the plant as it grows. We must mix the yeast and flour with water and wait for the dough to rise. Lord, today I wish to plant the seeds of encouragement, gratefulness and a positive attitude in my family and those I come in contact with. I want to avoid harsh judgment and jumping to negativity when things don’t go as I wish. A few words delivered with sincerity can make a big difference in my relationships. Give me the humility to say “I’m sorry” when I offend someone. With the eyes of faith, may I look for the wonders you will accomplish with the tiny seeds and yeast in my life. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen
