Matthew 13:10-17

“…blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” Matthew 13:16

Lord, thank you for the gift of hearing and seeing what you’ve created.   When I look upon the universe or listen to a symphony I see and hear you.  A sunrise, a birdsong, a loved one’s smile or a whispered “I love you” are all signs of your presence.  I am reminded of your love when I see compassion for a lonely widow or a mom or dad giving up their day off to take their kids to a day of fun.  Lord, I see and hear so much more of you when I let go of my pride and hardness of heart.  I am more aware of you when I take on a humble attitude and repent of my faults and failures.  Give me the eyes and ears of faith so I may discern all that you wish to reveal to me.  Lord, speak to me today in a new way and help me see you in a new place.  May I encounter you in every moment whether it’s a happy one or a suffering one.  Keep my eyes and ears open and ready for your precious word all the time.  Amen.
