Exodus 16:1-5, 9-15

Psalm 78

Matthew 13:1-9

“I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites.”  Exodus 16:12

God rained manna upon them for food.  Psalm 78:24

Father, you hear every prayer.  You even hear our prayers of complaining, mistrust and even anger.  In their hunger the people doubted your plan to lead them to freedom.  They even lost their gratitude for the wonders you performed for them in Egypt.  They forgot how you saved them at the Red Sea.  When times got tough they even turned to worship idols in place of you.  How patient, merciful and loving you are, dear Father.  Even when I can’t see your hand in my life you still want to free me from slavery to sin.  Even when I’m afraid, disgusted, or angry, you never give up on me.  I am blessed even when I lose faith in you.  You are faithful to me even when I forget all that you have done for me.  Lord God, hear the prayers of my heart today.  I’m confident you will be with me this day providing bread from heaven and all I need to live in abundance the freedom you desire.  Amen.
