2 Corinthians 4:7-15

Psalm 126

Matthew 20:20-28

…the surpassing power maybe of God and not from us.  2 Cor. 4:7

“Rather whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your slave.” Matth24ew 20:26

Lord, from the moment you met James you were working to transform him into the Apostle and servant he came to be.  His mother sought a high place for her sons in your kingdom.  Her wish was granted but not in the way she expected.  Over the years you formed this fisherman into a great servant leader in your young Church.  All came about by the power of your teaching, example and grace.  Lord, I too desire a secure place in your Kingdom.  I’m nothing special or important but with an open heat, a willingness to change and love of you I can become what you’ve chosen me to be.  Like James, I can have a different view of my role than you do. But I place all I am in your loving and powerful hands.  Make me, Lord, whatever you desire.  Work your surpassing power in me so that I will please you today.  Amen.
