Matthew 12:46-50
You will cast into the depths of the sea all our sins… Micah 7:19
“For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.” Mt. 12:50
Lord, as important as family is to us in your time it was the ultimate relationship. Family was everything. We know how much you loved your mother and your extended family too. You raise up all who follow you to the level of Mary and the others. O Lord, how honored I am to be included in such a family. Accepting and living the will of God is all that is required for membership into your most holy family. You are quite aware that we are a motley crew prone to selfishness, pride and whatever else can cause friction within a family. I can be lukewarm, even outright disagreeable, in my relationship with you and my brothers and sisters. But you delight in offering your mercy to me. I look forward to the eventual family reunion when you come again. A time when all men and women who have tried to do the will of our Father come together and celebrate the life you have given us. Jesus, my brother, have mercy on me a sinner. Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like yours. Thank you for including me in your family. Amen.
