Isaiah 38:1-6, 21-22, 7-8

Psalm Isaiah 38:10-12, 16

Matthew 12:1-8

“I have heard your prayer and seen your tears.”  Is. 38:5

Lord, sometimes we view prayer like a vending machine.  Put your prayer coin in, select the item you want and hope the machine delivers.  You are better than any vending machine.  You never malfunction; you always provide what is best for us when it is needed.  I believe you hear every one of my prayers: the perfect and the imperfect.  You see into my heart and know exactly its desires.  I am grateful for how you respond.  I know that I sometimes ask for what isn’t in my best interest.  I know I can be impatient and can get frustrated when I am not ready yet for what you want for me.  Open my mind and my heart to the wondrous possibilities you desire for me.  You see the big picture and are always ready to give me the abundant life designed just for me.  May my prayer today be that my will aligns with yours.  Give me the patience to wait until the best moment for my answer.  And may I always be watchful for when you want to give me something better than what I have asked for.  Amen.
