Amos 2:6-10, 13-16

Psalm 50

Matthew 8:18-22

“…to him that goes the right way I will show the salvation of God.”  Ps. 50:23

“Follow me…”  Mt. 8:22

Lord, no matter where we are on the road to salvation you always call us to closer relationship with our Father.  Some may be beginners, just learning the basics and uncertain where you are leading them.  Others are veterans who, after years of following you, have a firm and faithful connection with God.  But we are, all of us, struggling to give ourselves more completely to you.  Everyone who knows you is still pulled by the world, personal weakness, and the evil one to not take you as seriously as you desire.  You tell us to seek first and foremost the kingdom of God and everything else will be given to us.  Lord, how will you invite me into deeper communion with you today?  Who will you place in my path to receive your love and mercy?  You have given yourself fully and completely to me, help me not to be satisfied with a minimum response.  I beg for your grace to guide me to accept the challenge of the next step in my growth in faith.   Be my highest priority, dear Jesus.  May I follow you wherever you desire to lead me.  Amen.
