“Moses! Moses! Come now I will send you…” Exodus 3:4, 10
Father, you called a fugitive murderer to do a most extraordinary work for you. This was a task that eventually would change the world forever. This calling and commissioning was so dramatic we read and reflect on it thousands of years after it took place. My God you have called my name too. You’ve gotten my attention to what you desire me to do for you. Even though you don’t use a burning bush or speak to me the way you spoke to Moses my calling is in no way less important. You have work for me that you’ve given to no one else. And like Moses, I don’t feel qualified and may believe the job is too big or too hard. But, like Moses, you promise that you have my back in whatever you ask me to do. All that’s left is for me to listen, trust and step out in faith. Dear Lord, if I say yes to you today, be with me every step of the way. Amen.
