Psalm 94

Matthew 11:25-27

The Lord will not cast off his people… Ps. 94:14

“…you have revealed them to the childlike…“  Mt. 11:25

Lord, you know well what it’s like to be rejected and abandoned.  You experienced the ultimate agony when you accepted hatred, torture and crucifixion by the people who you came to save.   Affliction is bad enough but to suffer alone is worse.   Today you remind us that you are always nearby.  You are always ready to help us to endure whatever life sends our way.  This truth is revealed to us in your word.  If we listen to you with a childlike openness and simplicity we’ll get it.  During those times when I feel I am struggling alone, help me to see your presence and your guiding hand on my shoulder.  May I look with the eyes of faith at how you are moving and working to provide protection, support and healing.  Even if I turn away from you, remain at my side waiting for me to wake up to your love.  I believe that sometimes you teach me to trust by allowing me to struggle for a while before you reveal your plan.  Keep me patient and faithful, dear Lord, I trust in you.  Amen.
