Psalm 124

Matthew 10:34–11:1

Our help is in the name of the Lord.  Psalm 124:8

Lord, I really feel overwhelmed today.  When I got up this morning I was greeted by more problems than I could count.  There were more obstacles, more troubles, more enemies.  So much drags me down: poor health, family squabbles, money worries, car trouble and uncertain future.  Even the country I love seems to be coming apart at the seams.  There is so much in life over which I have little or no control.  But I do have control over my response to trials.  You have blessed me with the gift of faith in you.  Although our world rejects you, I won’t.  When all seems lost, my help and my hope are in your name, Lord.  Right now I lay all my troubles, worries and fears at your feet and look for you to rescue me from them.  Lift up my drooping spirit Lord, for I trust in you completely.  Be my champion this day, Lord.  I thank you in advance for all you will save, protect and strengthen me for today.  Amen.
