Hebrews 10:1-10

Psalm 40

Mark 3:31-35

“Behold, I come to do your will.”  Heb. 10:9

“For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”  Mk. 3:35

Lord, when we think of family we usually look to those who are related to us by blood.  In your time family was the most important social group.  You probably shocked those around you by expanded the limits of family to include all who love you and seek to do the will of our Father.  You didn’t put down your mother and the others.  You lifted up those in the circle around you to family status.  Thank you, dear Jesus, for inviting me into your family circle.  It is the highest honor to be your brother or sister.    Bless my blood family today.  Keep us faithful and respectful of each other.  Grow our unity and our faith in you.  Bless also my spiritual family:  the men, women and children who walk the road to eternity with me.  Keep before me the will of God at every moment of this day as I dedicate my life to building your kingdom in my heart and in my world.  May I seek to always to look at others, especially those different from me, as my brothers and sisters.  Amen
