Hebrews 13:15-17, 20-21

Psalm 23

Mark 6:30-34

When Jesus… saw the crowd his heart was moved with pity for them… Mk. 6:34

Lord, your author of Hebrews gives us a very heartfelt and prayerful conclusion to his work.  He prays:

May the God of peace, who brought up from the dead,

The great shepherd of the sheep

By the blood of the eternal covenant, furnish you with all that is good, that you may do his will.

May he carry out in you what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ,

To whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.  Heb. 13:21

Lord, I want to thank you for how you watch over me.  I’m so prone to underestimate my work for you.  It’s good to know you take pity on me when I feel overwhelmed and overworked.  You are my shepherd so I can trust you will lead me to the protection of a quiet place to rest, relax and renew.  I know you will “furnish me with all that is good” when I seek to do the will of the Father and what is pleasing to him.  May I, today, rest in your loving arms, be refreshed by your consoling words and be renewed by your grace to continue my walk with you.  Amen.
