1 Peter 5:1-4

Psalm 23

Mark 16:13-19

“For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.”

Matthew 16:17

Lord, we live in what we call the “information age”.  We can receive so much about our world thru satellite communication, the internet and 24-7 cable news.  It can be overwhelming at times how much data is available to us.  When you asked Peter what he understood about you he got it right for the moment.  He didn’t check google or Facebook for his answer.  He got it from the Father.  Human sources had not revealed this truth to him but it was the Holy Spirit who guided Peter to see you as who you are.  Lord, I believe you have revealed yourself to me in the same way.  You so desire for me to know you as Peter did.  It’s a life-long process, one day at a time, to receive the full understanding of you and what you want me to be.  Peter didn’t always get it right and neither do I.  So please help me to be open to your revelation in scripture and prayer. You’ve brought me a long way but I know I have a ways to go.  Keep me close to your Sacred Heart, dear Jesus, so I can know, love and serve you more each day.  Amen.
