Hebrews 12:4-7, 11-15

Psalm 103

Mark 6:1-6

And they took offense at him.  Mark 6:3

Lord, how it must have hurt to be rejected by your friends and neighbors in your hometown.  You had done nothing to offend them.  You came home to share the good news of the Father’s love for them and they didn’t accept you or your message.  That must have broken your heart.  It was just a preview of what would occur later when others would despise and reject you and nail you to a cross.  But this setback didn’t keep you from spreading the good news, healing and leading all people into the kingdom.  You didn’t let discouragement change your mission to carry out the will of your Father.  Lord, help me to continue living a holy life even when things don’t go the way I want.  Even if a friend or family member fails me or even harms me keep me moving forward in faith.  The people didn’t recognize you as their Messiah and Lord.  Grow my trust and faith in you one day at a time to see you as you are.  Amen
