Psalm 95

Luke 21:34-36

An angel showed me the river of life-giving water… flowing from the throne of God… Rev. 22:1

Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength… Lk. 21:36

Lord, the bible begins with a tree of life and it ends with a river of life.  Both are gifts from you to your people.  You made us for immortality and even though we turned against you we received a promise of a Savior.  Lord, on last day of the liturgical year we look back on all the seasons of the year as your gift to us.  These times of grace and holiness form us as your disciples.  Lord, whatever may come: the end of the world as we know it or my death, I trust you to give me the strength to endure.  The strength to remain faithful.  The strength to be your obedient child.  May the water of your grace fill me with everything I need to enter into a new year of your favor.  I pray for the needs of my family, my parish, my community and my country.  This time of year we gather to celebrate life in many different ways.  At the end of the day, it is your love we must celebrate.  Thank you, Lord, for everything but especially for being the source of life-giving water.  Amen.
