1 Corinthians 1:1-9

Psalm 145

Matthew 24:42-51

You are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait… 1 Cor. 1:7

“Who, then, is the faithful and prudent servant…” Mt. 24:45

Lord, waiting is hard for many of us.  We’ve want faster internet, instant control over TV channels, movies on demand, and microwave meals.  We make appointments with doctors but get frustrated when we must sit in the waiting room.  You tell us that while we wait for the time when you return or when we have our last day on this planet we must be patiently vigilant.  Our moms taught us to do the right thing even when no one is looking.  We’ve been blessed with the spiritual gifts necessary to stay faithful.  Every day, in small and big ways, we have choices to make.  One way to walk the right path is to often ask for your help and then give you praise and thanksgiving for hearing and answering our prayers.  Life is not a spectator sport.  No matter what stage of life we are in we can lift our hearts to you and patiently wait for you to reveal yourself to us.  Lord, may I be your “faithful and prudent servant” in all things today especially in how I treat my family and those close to me.    I will then be ready to greet you.  Amen.
