John 13:16-20

…through all generations my mouth shall proclaim your faithfulness.  Psalm 89:1

“God, according to his promise, has brought to Israel a savior, Jesus.”  Acts 13:23

Lord, Paul gives a summary of the grand plan of salivation and your place in it to the people just hearing about you.  It’s amazing to realize that from the beginning of mankind, through so many people and events, the Father has been bringing to fulfillment his plan to restore us to himself.  Thousands of years He has been directing, encouraging, and loving his people so we could be saved by your death and resurrection.  He continues, through his Spirit to shepherd us in countless ways so that we may not be lost.   Lord, I am just one small person in this grand scheme but I believe that I am loved like all the rest.  I am a part of the grand plan.  I have received so much from the rich tradition of the Church, the sacred scriptures and the witness of so many saints who have shown me the way to you.  It doesn’t stop with me for I may be an important link to someone else growing in faith.   May your grace be abundant in me today, dear Jesus, so I can continue “through all generations my mouth shall proclaim your faithfulness.”
