APRIL 26, 2017 WEDNESDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK OF EASTER-A
Acts 5:17-26
Psalm 34
John 3:16-21
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son… John 3:16-21
Lord, can I make these words personal? For my Father loved me so much he gave you so that children like me might not be lost but might live forever. For our Father did not send you to condemn me but that I might be saved. If I believe in you I will not be condemned, if I do not then I condemn myself because I have chosen not to believe in you. The verdict is in: light has come to me but I sometimes prefer darkness to light because what I do is shameful. For if I do wicked deeds I hate the light and stay in the darkness to hide my sins. But if I choose the truth and come to the light my good works will be clearly seen as done in God.
Lord, may I live this eternal life you offer now, today? I don’t want to wait any longer. Increase my faith, my trust, my commitment to you. I choose the light and shun the dark. Your mercy and grace can bring me into the life you have promised to me and the world. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.
