Acts of the Apostles 2:36-41

Psalm 33

John 20:11-18

“…you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  Acts 2:38

Lord, the disciples were truly blessed to have received your gift of the Holy Spirit.  In your great wisdom and plan you saw they needed a source of strength, wisdom and direction if they were to become your church, your body on earth.  The gifts of the spirit filled them with everything they needed after your ascension to the Father.  We read how they were transformed from being fearful men and women in hiding to courageous disciples and apostles to the world.  Lord, I believe I have received that same Holy Spirit on the day of my baptism.  I believe the effects of that Spirit were completed and enhanced on the day of my confirmation.  I believe that you have a plan for me to be transformed into a strong witness to your truth.  You know it is not easy to live as your disciple in a world that wants to deny you.  It’s difficult to go against the culture of death and to not be fooled by lure of materialism.  Dear Jesus, continue my growth in the Spirit today so that I can live like I’ve been saved.  I hope in your grace and the power of the Spirit.  Amen.
