Acts of the Apostles 9:31-42
Psalm 116
John 6:60-69
Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?” John 6:67
Lord, we all have turning points in our lives. A choice needs to be made about career, marriage, buying a house, or faith. Peter and the others were at a turning point. They could leave with the rest or they could stick it out and remain with you. What you had told the people about eating your flesh and drinking your blood made absolutely no sense and went against everything they knew. The Twelve chose to stay and walk with you. They had left everything behind and put their entire future into your hands. Lord, I don’t understand everything about you. I sometimes question how you work in my life and in the world. I ask myself why don’t’ you do this or why did that happen? There have even been times when I drifted away from you like the people in the gospel. Thanks to the Holy Spirit I have come back to stay. Dear Jesus, I put my life and the lives of my family in your powerful, loving and protecting hands. I will stand with you and like in the Psalm “will call upon the name of the Lord” all the days of my life especially when I don’t understand. Amen.
