Psalm 138

Matthew 7:7-12

I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with all my heart… Ps. 138:1

“…Knock and the door will be opened to you.”  Matthew 7:7

Lord, you give us this season of Lent so that we can put aside what keeps us from living the abundant life you want for us. You invite us to a closer relationship with you and each other. I can think of Lent as a doorway to all you want to give us.  You tell me to ask, see, and knock for my needs. Lord, I knock on the door in prayer for very special people. For me to receive the answer for my prayer I must walk through that door in faith. I believe I must be willing to work for what I pray for. I am part of the answer to my prayer, part of the solution to my problem. I know and believe you only want the best for me. So, with confidence I can go through the door you offer. Help me to see your wisdom and generosity. With the courage and strength of your grace I can step out in faith to do my part. Lord, I thank you in advance for granting me the best answer and for letting me share in bringing it about. Amen.
